Bauman wins ‘Athlete of the Week’ coming off the bench
Against tough competition, sophomore Blake Bauman, a forward on the soccer team, has been crowned this week's "Athlete of the Week". Coming off the bench last week against Goshen College, Blake scored both of the pilots only goals in the game--one in the first half, and one in the second. Bauman has appeared in 10 of the Pilot's last 17 game, and has done well in the minutes he's given. Those goals ended up being pivotal for the Pilots, when after regulation and 2 overtime periods, the game "It was Senior Night, so I was excited for myself but I was also excited for my team," said Bauman. "I was happy I could do that for the seniors."ended with a 2-2 tie on Senior Night. Talking about his goal in the second half, Bauman said "I couldn't have made it in another 50 tries." Congrats to Blake and the soccer team for a great season regular season. On Saturday, the Pilots will play in the NCCAA Tournament. Next week's "Athlete of the Week" nominees are 3 volleyball players, Aubrey Husak, Lindsay Marks, and Morgan Fox. Follow the instructions in the top right-hand corner to vote!
